Michelle spends most of her time working behind the scenes to encourage and equip artists to keep pushing the boundaries of classical music presentation. She and her husband Steuart are the founders of Music in Familiar Spaces, a collective of some of the world’s leading classical musicians who have joined together to reach new audiences with innovative programs and accessible concerts. Michelle received a degree in classical voice performance at the Oberlin Conservatory where she fell in love with 20th Century American art song. After graduating, Michelle spent four years living in the Netherlands working for an international court in the Hague as a communications manager. Throughout her career, Michelle continued to perform in the U.S. and Europe, enjoying especially the opportunities to share music in informal and intimate settings. Michelle currently lives in a (tiny) house with her husband Steuart, dog Lucy, and a few chickens (well, the chickens have their own house).
